PROGESTERONE BLOOD TESTING

The blood progesterone level is the number one way to accurately determine the optimum fertile period in the bitch.

Progesterone is also the best tool for quickly staging where a bitch is in her estrous cycle.

The progesterone test can be done every 2 days starting from around day 8 into the heat.
Ovulation occurs at a progesterone level of 5 ng/ml.

Timing of breeding

The aim is to identify when the progesterone level reaches 2.5 ng/ml so the mating schedule can be set up, or the veterinarian and owner of the male dog can be notified that they should be prepared to collect and ship a semen sample or to pinpoint the optimum time for breeding

What to do Next

1.Pre- Order and pay for your Canine Breeding PROGESTRONE BLOOD TESTING kit. 2. When your bitch comes into season from day 6 onwards you will need a vet to draw a small sample of blood, and package it in the Canine Breeding testing kit. 3. Blood collections can be Posted or Delivered to us in person. 4. Canine Breeding services will test your sample in our fertility clinic within same day as receiving your blood sample. 5. You will be advised of the results ,and if ovulation has occurred and mating can begin, or if another test is required
